What began as late-night
living room jams over hot chocolate and ice cream
has, in just over a year, spiraled into something
much more for Kerri Lynn, Shauna Lauren, Sarah Kay
and Elise of Kelowna, BC. Just a few short months
after meeting, these four female musicians, together
under the name Terza Rima, widened their horizons
when they played their first live set in Vancouver's
annual Eastside Culture Crawl. By the spring of
2006, Terza Rima had played their fair share of
local shows, including performing at the Habitat's
"Love, Funk, Leather and Lace" Valentine's day bash,
as well as opening for Toronto's Magneta Lane and
Small Sins of Paperbag records.
Terza Rima has taken the
local music scene by storm with their original
sound. "We're not just another girl band trying to
be a boy band," says Sarah, and it shows in their
performances. Their evident musical ability and
creativity, combined with their hip style and sassy
attitudes, have made these four girls the talk of
the town as they aim to accomplish what no other
all-female band out of Kelowna has ever done before.
Terza Rima is currently
anticipating their EP release in March of 2007 and
is preparing for another busy summer as they push
down the boundaries faced by other independant
female artists and make plans to head out on a more
extensive, across-Canada tour.
